THE MARATHON, 1/2 MARATHON & RELAY COURSES

* This unique course features the Chippewa National Forest and the North Country Trail (a groomed grass-covered pathway). Participants will also enjoy the scenic Heartland Trail (paved) and long stretches of gravel country roads. Less than 5 miles of the course is run on paved streets or highways. The famous finish is an uphill 1/2 mile jaunt to Ostlund Field to the finish line. The Marathon Course is an Athletic Congress certified 26.2 miles.

* You must be able to complete the Marathon and the Team Relay in 6 1/2 hours or less and the Half Marathon in 3 1/2 hours or less. No times will be kept beyond those times.

MARATHON TEAM RELAY NOTES

* The age category of the team will be determined by the youngest runner of the team on the day of the race.

* Shuttle buses will be available for runners' transportation to the start of the Half Marathon and the second half of the relay exchange point. The shuttles (orange school busses) will be parked near the 10K starting line and will leave for the exchange point shortly after the start of the 10K.

THE 10K COURSE

* The course has a very scenic mix of blacktop, well packed gravel, and paved trail (Heartland Trail). The 10K course begins on 4th Street and follows some city streets before moving onto the Heartland Trail. Like the Marathon, it finishes with the famous uphill 1/2 mile climb to Ostlund Field and across the finish line. The 10K course is also certified by the Athletic Congress.
