all women who have
fought Ovarian Cancer
Last year, 2,000 people participated in the Walk/Run and more than $200,000 was raised. As an incentive to raise more money, MOCA is offering prizes for the top pledge getters. The funds generated help MOCA achieve its mission of funding ovarian cancer research, raising awareness of the disease, and providing support to women with ovarian cancer and their families. In the past six years, MOCA has awarded more than $1.3 million for ovarian cancer research in Minnesota.
September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. By joining us in the Walk/Run event you are helping to raise funds for research, awareness and education activities on ovarian cancer in the state of Minnesota.

KID'S FUN RUN:
Children 12 and under can participate too. They
will run distances in heats designed especially
for their age group. Children are encouraged,
but not required, to get pledges too.

MOCA is a tax exempt not-for-profit-corporation. Donations are tax deductible. You do not need to secure pledges to participate, but every dollar helps us to increase awareness and find an early detection test for Ovarian Cancer. Ask your employer about company matching.

What is MOCA?
MOCA is a non-profit education and awareness
organization founded by Ovarian Cancer Survivors.
In the past six years, MOCA has awarded more than
$1.3 million in research grants in Minnesota.
Ovarian cancer affects 1 in 57 women.
Our mission is to:
- Create an awareness regarding early warning signs
that may be indicative of ovarian cancer.
- To create and promote resources to support
networking and education for women diagnosed with
ovarian cancer in order to help them in their battle.
- To unite and educate individuals, the medical
community and organizations to overcome
ovarian cancer.
- To advance ovarian cancer research in Minnesota
toward better treatment, diagnosis and a cure.
Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer
Symptoms of ovarian cancer are subtle and easily
confused with symptoms of other disorders or common
ailments women experience.
The common, but often vague symptoms, are:
- Pressure and bloating in your abdomen
- Constant and progressive changes in bowel and bladder patterns
- Persistent digestive problems
- Ongoing excessive fatigue
- Abnormal bleeding
- Pain during intercourse
- Backache
