JEFF WINTER CITY OF LAKES HALF MARATHON

Sunday, September 13, 2015

8:00 a.m.

Longtime MDRA president and race director Jeff Winter passed away on October 13, 2012 of brain cancer. Jeff was the founder of the City of Lakes 25K and its race director for most of the race's 32 years, and before that managed the City of Lakes Marathon on much the same course. At the MDRA 50th Anniversary Party in 2011 Jeff was honored with a lifetime achievement award for all of his work for MDRA and his five decades of race directing. We will miss his passion for MDRA and the City of Lakes races and are proud to honor his legacy by renaming the race, now a half marathon, for Jeff.

As it has since in 1982, this middle distance event provides a stand alone, middle distance test and/or a perfect training test for those running Twin Cities Marathon or other fall marathons. Selected to be part of the 2015 USATF MN Championship Series of ten races.
