CITY OF LAKES 25K

The 28th running of this middle distance event created in 1982. Provides a stand alone, middle distance test and/or a perfect training test for those running Twin Cities Marathon or other fall marathons. Selected to be the finale of the 2009 USATF MN Championship Series of six races
START:
8:00 AM Sharp! The start is located at the SW corner of Lake Harriet in south Minneapolis.
Course:
Makes two loops plus around Lakes Calhoun and Harriet in south Mpls. The race finishes at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. The 15.5 mile course is traffic free and run mostly on the parkways surrounding the two inner-city lakes. Each mile is marked and the water is available at least every 5K.
SPLITS:
1M, 5K, 5M, 10K, 13.1M and 15M.
Note: For marathon training purposes an accurately measured half marathon point
will display elapsed times digitally. The first one hundred runners will have there half marathon times recorded and published.
FINISHER KEEPSAKE:
All finishers of the 2009 25K event will receive a 28th commemorative, 14 ounce, glass stein.
AGE GROUP AWARDS:
Given to the top male/female finishers in the following brackets: 19-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+.
$100 cash for any new Minnesota single-age record.
2009 ENTRY INFORMATION:
2009 field limited to 1200 entries. Entries are neither transferable nor refundable after issue.
The 2009 early entry fee is $30.00 if received on or before September 4th. Early registration is encouraged and rewarded; early entrants will have their race numbers and instructions mailed back to them via first-class mail the week prior to the race.
Entries received after September 4th and by September 11th will be considered late entries. The 2009 late entry fee is $35.00. Late entries can be picked up on Saturday, September 12th at the Running Room, Inc. retail store located at 2801 Hennepin Ave. So. (in the Uptown area of Minneapolis.) between the hours of 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM; or Sunday, September 13th, at the Lake Harriet Bandshell area between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM. (The start is over a mile from the Bandshell.)
Should there be any additional slots still available after September 12th , they will be made available for last registration. Last entry cost will be $36.00.
Note: USATF members indicating their USATF number on their entries will be eligible for a $2.00 discount off the listed entry fees. MDRA members are also eligible for a $2.00 discount off the listed entry fees.

2009 TEAM AWARDS: Cash awards will be presented to the first-place and second-place men's and women's USATF five-person teams. USATF team scoring rules will be used. Note: A team affiliation must be indicated by entrants on their entry at the time of registration to be eligible for inclusion on a USATF team. Details available at the City of Lakes 25K website.
2009 CASH AWARDS/INCENTIVES: Cash awards to the first male and female finisher. Cash awards to the first male and female master finishers. Graded cash incentives awards will be made to males running sub 1:24 and faster and females running sub 1:37 pace and faster. $100 cash for any new Minnesota single-age record.

Race Day
For your safety, headphones, baby strollers, in-line skates and dogs are not permitted on the course.
