CITY OF LAKES 25K

The 26th running of this middle distance event created in 1982. Provides a stand alone, middle distance test and/or a perfect training test for those running Twin Cities Marathon or other fall marathons. Selected to be the finale of the 2007 USATF MN Championship Series of six races

START:

8:00 AM Sharp! The start is located at the SW corner of Lake Harriet in south Minneapolis.

Course:

Makes two loops plus around Lakes Calhoun and Harriet in south Mpls. The race finishes at the Lake Harriet Bandshell. The 15.5 mile course is traffic free and run mostly on the parkways surrounding the two inner-city lakes. Each mile is marked and the water is available at least every 5K.

SPLITS:

1M, 5K, 5M, 10K, 13.1M and 15M.

Note: For marathon training purposes an accurately measured half marathon point will display elapsed times digitally. The first one hundred runners will have there half marathon times recorded and published.

FINISHER KEEPSAKE:

All finishers of the 2007 25K event will receive a 26th commemorative, 14 ounce, glass stein.

AGE GROUP AWARDS:

Given to the top male/female finishers in the following brackets: 19-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+.

2007 TEAM AWARDS:

$250.00 cash awards to the first place male and female USATF registered teams. Team affiliation and USATF registration must be designated by team entrants on their CoL registration form.

2007 CASH AWARDS/INCENTIVES:

Cash awards and incentives will be paid to the top male and female open and masters runners in the 2007 event. Details available at the City of Lakes 25K website.

2007 ENTRY INFORMATION

: 2007 field limited to 1100 entries. Entries are neither transferable nor refundable after issue.

The 2007 early entry fee is $25.00 if received on or before August 31st. Early entrants will have their race numbers and instructions mailed back to them via first-class mail the week prior to the race.

Entries received on or before September 7th will be considered late entries. The 2007 late entry fee is $30.00. Late entries can be picked up on Saturday, September 8th at the Running Room, Inc. retail store located at 2801 Hennepin Ave. So. (in the Uptown area of Minneapolis.) between the hours of 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM; or Sunday, the 9th, at the Lake Harriet Bandshell area between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM.

Should there be any additional slots still available after September 7th , they will be made available for last registration. Last entry cost will be $35.00.

Note: USATF members indicating there association number on their entries will be eligible for a $1:00 discount off the listed entry fees.
