1998 Road Races on Certified Courses In and Near Minnesota

USATF has certified the length of about sixty road race courses in Minnesota. When you run a race on a certified course, you know the course was properly measured. USATF Minnesota publishes at least partial results of all races on certified Minnesota courses in its magazine, Minnesota Running & Track, and collects the best performances of the year (and all time) in an 88-page publication called A Minnesota Runner's Yearbook. 1998 Schedule

Schedule based on that compiled by the Minnesota Distance Running Association and published in Running Minnesota 19987. For up-to-date information on race dates and times, call MDRA's RACELINE, (612) 925-4749. To join MDRA and/or to volunteer for MDRA-sponsored races, call (612) 927-0983. Since 1990, in order to qualify as a U.S. long distance running record a performance must have been run on a course whose elevation does not drop by more than one meter per kilometer of the course distance from start to finish, and whose straight-line distance from start to finish line is less than 30% of the length of the course. Such courses are indicated below with a "Yes" in the Record Quality column. Performances run on courses that meet the drop provision but have a start-finish distance greater than 30% may be accepted for records if it can be shown that there was no tailwind. Those courses are indicated by a "Maybe" in the Record Quality column.

Races in bold face submitted results and documentation to the Minnesota Running Data Center for record purposes in 1997.
